Kayla Fogle is a new coach this season. She is a math teacher at West Fairmont Middle School where she coaches track. She has dedicated her life to swimming and working in the community teaching young people to swim. She was a swimmer at Fairmont State University for four years. Some of her accolades include being a team captain, All MEC honor, CSCAA Scholar All American Team, CSC Academic All District Team, and Division 2 Award of Excellence Program Finalist. Growing up she swam on the Martins Ferry Summer Swim Team in Ohio for 16 years. She swam on the Wheeling YMCA Cardinal Aquatics Swim Team for 13 years. She graduated from Martins Ferry High School where she swam on the swim team for 4 years. This past year she was a graduate assistant swim coach at Salem University where she is currently working on her masters degree in Educational Leadership. She has been a certified lifeguard and taught private swim lessons for 8 years.
Caroline Hamiton grew up as swimmer on the Rock Lobster Swim Team so the team holds a very special place in her heart. Aside from Rock Lobsters, she swam for the Mountain State Storm Club swim team as well as the Fairmont Senior High School Girls Varsity Swim Team. She will be graduating from Fairmont Senior High School in May of this year and plans to attend Marshall University in the fall to study Pre-Medicine. She also loves teaching swim and giving lessons to many kids on the team.
Carter Southern is a recent graduate from Fairmont Senior High School where he served as swim team captain and participated in both soccer and lacrosse. He started his swim career at the age of 6 for the Rock Lobsters and has spent every summer since swimming at the Field Club. He also swam club during the winter swim season for both Fairmont Area Swim Team and Mountain State Storm. He will be attending Marshall University in the fall where he will be focusing his studies in the health sciences.
Olivia Ridenour is a new coach this year. Originally from Charleston, she graduated from George Washington High School as a three-time state swimming champion. She is currently a junior at Fairmont State University, where she is double majoring in political science and national security & intelligence while competing as a member of the swim team. Following graduation, she plans to attend law school or pursue a career in intelligence analysis. As a collegiate swimmer, Olivia has earned multiple All-MEC honors across various events as well as MEC Academic Honors recognition. She also serves as treasurer of the Fairmont State Student Athlete Advisory Committee, where she helps coordinate campus and community events and fundraising efforts benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Olivia has been swimming for 15 years and has spent the past 5 years coaching swimmers in both Charleston and North Central West Virginia. In addition to joining the coaching staff this season, she currently coaches with the Mountain State Storm club swim team.
